The engine options in the Terrain are all-new, offering three turbocharged engine choices for drivers to choose from. These options include the segments only combination of a turbocharged engine and a 9-speed transmission! Let’s take a look at each of the engines below.

1.5-liter Turbocharged Gas Engine
This engine has late availability, but it offers excellent efficiency and no shortage of power. It can reach up to 170 horsepower and 203-pound-feet of torque, and it is coupled with a 9-speed transmission. This engine gets an estimated 26 city and 30 highway MPG and it offer capless fuel filling.
1.6-liter Turbocharged Diesel Engine
This engine also has late availability, but offers impressive off-the-line diesel torque and efficiency. This engine is paired up with a 6-speed transmission and can reach up to 137 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque. It gets an estimated 28 city and 39 highway MPG.
2.0-liter Turbocharged Gas Engine
The standard engine on the Terrain, this choice delivers performance and exceptional responsiveness. This engine is matched with a 9-speed transmission and gets up to 252 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, while maintaining efficiency and reaching 22 city and 28 highway MPG. This engine also offers capless fuel filling.
