Welcome to the future with the Cadillac ELR

The 2014 Cadillac ELR is here! Well, kind of. The first ELR recently rolled off the assembly line – but it will be used for testing purposes by engineers. The full consumer release of the 2014 Cadillac ELR is scheduled for the early part of 2014. So while we may have a little while to wait, it’s encouraging seeing that the new car has reached a physical form, if only for testing purposes.

For those of you not familiar with the 2014 Cadillac ELR, it will be Cadillac’s entry vehicle to the electric car market. Following GM vehicles like the Chevy Volt, the ELR will be a vehicle that can get all of its propulsion from an electric powerplant. The design of the car will be uniquely Cadillac, while also being refined to be very aerodynamic and stylish. And all of this will sit on equally stylish 20” wheels the complete the look and feel of the vehicle.

The new Cadillac ELR is getting ready to make waves.

Beyond the initial range provided by the electric powerplant, the 2014 Cadillac ELR will also have the ability to regenerate energy. This will come in the form of a generator on board that will extend the range of the vehicle beyond the initial numbers. This power will also be put in the hands of the vehicle operators, as paddle controls will allow energy to be put back into the car’s battery while slowing the vehicle down.

The 2014 Cadillac ELR has been attracting a lot of attention at various car shows and other events. So there’s no doubt that it will be highly coveted when it actually reaches the inventory of new cars in Kenosha here at Palmen GM. We’re excited to see what the future brings in the auto industry – and the new Cadillac ELR is sure to be a big part of it.
