2020 was a busy year for GMC, as it announced several fresh models and a resurgence of the Hummer brand, Since then, the upcoming 2022 GMC Hummer EV has been continually tested in various conditions to ensure it offers a complete driving experience. One recent test came in a key space those in the Kenosha, WI would appreciate: winter conditions. Between sub-zero temperatures, ice, and snow, can a 2022 GMC Hummer EV handle winter driving? 2022 GMC Hummer Tested in Michigan
Earlier this month, performance testing was concluded on the 2022 GMC Hummer EV. IN testing its capabilities, GMC brought the model out to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. As us Wisconsinites know, the U.P. is home to plenty of snow and ice. The model was tested in such conditions to measure its all-wheel drive torque distribution, traction control system, and electronic stability control system. All in all, here were the results:
What Features Will be Available in the 2022 GMC Hummer EV to Help with Winter Driving?
As mentioned previously, the 2022 GMC Hummer EV has a wide range of features to make it one of the most capable electric models in the winter. The test was set in place to ensure the model’s unheard-of 11,500 lb-ft of torque could be used in order to maintain performance in icy roads. Beyond that, such options include a CrabWalk feature, which is done via the 4-Wheel Steering capabilities of up to 10 degrees on rear tires. Other features optimal for winter driving include:
