GM Producing Future Self-Driving Cars

GM is Producing Autonomous Cars for Testing

According to the Federal Communications Commission, GM is planning on putting quite a few self-driving cars on the road in the near future. The test vehicles that will be hitting the road will offer self-driving concepts that might make for safer and more convenient driving in the future. Read on and learn a bit more about what autonomous driving will mean for us

What Does Autonomous Driving Technology Do?

It seems that GM will be targeting the ride-sharing networks in larger cities for testing the new self-driving technology. The vehicles will be using radio signals to “talk” with each other and the sensors on the roadways. With the radio and radar technologies working together, we can expect the self-driving cars to make highway travel more convenient, and even take the stress out of parking facilities.

Vehicles that are looking to be some of the first with the autonomous driving technology are the Chevy Bolt and Chrysler Pacifica minivan, and competing companies like Ford are promising to have cars without pedals or steering wheels by 2021. What does this mean for us in the next few years? It means that the world of automotive technology, especially for the latest vehicles from Buick, GMC and Cadillac, will continue to race ahead.
